Ransomware attacks are becoming more targeted, sophisticated and costly, as evidenced by the highly publicized attacks of modern times. With the rapid increase in ransomware attacks against private sector companies, the FBI is making these investigations a top priority. InfraGard San Diego’s ransomware tabletop exercise is an essential training event that will equip InfraGard members with real-world knowledge, insight and resources to confront this malicious cybercrime.
This TTX will simulate a realistic ransomware attack on a fictitious San Diego business. Participants will be provided with background materials and three tabletop interjections they can leverage to evaluate their own organization’s preparedness to address the continued threat of ransomware. Attendees can also repurpose this exercise for their organization either live during the webinar (e.g., leverage the offered scenario and interjections contextualized to their firm) and/or for future training. This ransomware tabletop exercise engages both technical and non-technical (business) audiences among InfraGard members; it does not have specific dependencies on a particular sector or an individual’s role within their organization.
