Radicalization, Terrorism Prevention, and Violent Extremist Mobilization Indicators and the Critical Infrastructure Sector

InfraGard National is pleased to continue our exclusive joint webinar series with the National Counterterrorism Center. This event will include the following two presentations:

Radicalization and Terrorism Prevention – This briefing will provide an overview of terrorism prevention and its associated activities, focusing on how this approach works to mitigate radicalizations and mobilization to violent extremism. Presenter Dr. Agatha Glowacki has worked with NCTC for more than a decade on issues pertaining to terrorist threats and propaganda, radicalization and recruitment, and programs to prevent and counter violent extremism (CVE). The learning objectives for this webinar include:

  1. Be able to describe the spectrum of activities that fall under Terrorism Prevention and who the key players are;
  2. Understand the important role of bystanders in reporting information;
  3. Understand the importance of the Threat Assessment/Threat Management model to off-ramp individuals who are close to mobilizing to violence;
  4. Understand ways to mitigate offenders from re-offending after they leave prison.

Violent Extremist Mobilization Indicators and the Critical Infrastructure Sector – This briefing will provide an overview of the Critical Infrastructure Sector supplement to the 2021 US Violent Extremist Mobilization Indicators booklet. Presenter John Cassara has worked at NCTC since 2013 in a variety of roles, including as an intelligence analyst focused on homegrown violent extremists, radicalization and mobilization of violent extremists, and ISIS’ cyber and media operations. The learning objectives for this webinar include:

  1. Understand and recognize the observable behaviors that suggest a US-based violent extremist may be mobilizing to violence.
  2. Understand how those behaviors could apply to violent extremists targeting the 16 critical infrastructure sectors.
