A federal judge and a state judge will discuss technology in courts, including virtual trials during the pandemic, hybrid proceedings, confidentiality and privacy, security threats, public access, and more.
Presenters:
Xavier Rodriguez, Judge of the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas
Judge Rodriguez is a former Texas Supreme Court Justice & currently sits on the bench as a US District Judge for the Western District of Texas. He received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard, a master’s from UT LBJ, and a JD from UT Law.
Emily Miskel, Judge of the 470th District Court in Collin County, Texas
Judge Miskel has an engineering degree from Stanford & a law degree from Harvard. She received the 2020 Rehnquist Award for Judicial Excellence from the National Center for State Courts for her pioneering work in Zoom trials.
